A Sure Sign

God did us a favor! He told us ahead of time how this world will end, so we will not be alarmed or frightened as earth cranks up to its final explosive conclusion. Clues about the end of the world are scattered throughout the Bible, and the Book of Revelation is dedicated to it.

The day when Jesus returns to earth is very close. In order for very specific prophecies of the Second Coming to be fulfilled, Israel had to be in their homeland. The Jews are back in their land now, so this is the primary sign that the book of Revelation will begin to happen!

Although Christians have predicted the Second Coming of Jesus Christ for centuries, Israel was scattered around the world.  And who could ever hope that the Jews would go home again? It seemed impossible, and it was impossible.  This was the one really important prophecy that lacked fulfillment.

Many people still don’t want to believe that Jesus will return soon. They argue that “The Second Coming has been predicted for centuries” as if that’s an excuse to shrug it off. But Jesus commanded us to believe it and be ready: even if it didn’t seem to be true at the time. Whenever Jesus gives orders like that, it’s good to pay attention.

And now, when the signs are definitely coming true, people are so much in the habit of ignoring any signs of the Lord’s return that it’s nearly impossible to get them to listen.

The one thing we can’t ignore is Israel. The nation of Israel is constantly on the news. From a logical standpoint, it’s difficult to understand why this tiny country matters so much. It could be God’s way of waving huge red flags in our faces!

ISRAEL is the reason why we can say with real confidence to this generation: We need to be ready and expecting the Lord’s return.

Valley Of Dry Bones

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know. ” Ezekiel 37 NIV

From nothing, God created a nation. From the graveyard of ancient nations and lost peoples, God resurrected a country! God pulled people from here and there and made something out of nothing. This miracle of the Jewish homeland should be enough to make each of us get serious with God!

If you have read the story of how Israel became a nation once again, you will see that it was very touch-and-go through the entire lengthy process. And there was unbelievable resistance! As Ezekiel describes the army of bones coming together in stages; that is exactly how it happened. God resurrected the nation of Israel piece by piece and placed them back in their homeland. Each stage was a miracle.

Nothing can stop the Hand of God, and it was God Himself who declared that it would happen. And it was God Himself who did it, despite insurmountable obstacles and incredibly fierce resistance.

Jesus is coming soon! We know this because the Jewish people are the marker that proves God’s timetable. In order for very specific prophecies of the Second Coming to be fulfilled, Israel had to be in their homeland.  There is no longer any reason to doubt that Jesus could return at any time.

And they (the Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:25-28
